Kintsugi Art Beginner's Workshop
Learn the Japanese art of Kintsugi in a calm serene environment!
Service Description
Kintsugi is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery by reattaching the areas of breakage with adhesive and powdered gold, silver, or bronze. The philosophy behind this art form is to treat breakage and repair as part of the history of an object, rather than something to discard. Kintsugi is a reminder to stay optimistic when things fall apart and to celebrate the flaws and missteps of life. All materials are provided. For ages 11 and up. What is included in your 3-hour beginner's workshop: 1) An introduction to the history of Kintsugi, how Kintsugi teaches us sustainability and why Kintsugi is considered a healing art. 2) 1 Japanese ceramic of your choice. 3) Full art materials to conduct modern Kintsugi healing. Please note that the art materials can’t be taken back home. Purely for use in the studio only. 4) Free flow of Japanese Green Tea and snacks. 5) Beautiful Japanese Sakura flower gift box to take home your beautifully restored Kintsugi pieces.
